I have recently graduated in my diploma for photography and my enthusiasm has never been so high to enter the industry and get started on my career! My main passion in photography lies within creative advertising. I am constantly crawling webpages such as Ads Of The World and getting inspired by great work and wanting to achieve work of a similar standard and am awaiting my big break to do so!
I got interested in photography in the Autumn of 2004 when visiting friends and family I took my first digital camera with me and on a walk around the parks of that area, I took a few photos and was pleased with how they turned out. I caught the bug that day and my interest has grown ever since. By mid 2005 I had upgraded to a more advanced camera, a Fuji 9400 and had the dautning task of figuring out all these new features that were available to me. I kept snapping away until mid 2006 when I realised this is what I wanted to do in life. With some help and guidance from friends I started in a photography course at North Glasgow College. Here I learnt the fundamentals of photography, using 35mm film. It was such a pleasure to work with film and it made a huge difference to how I looked at digital photography, both pre shooting and post production.
I then advanced onto an HND (Higher National Diploma) course at the Glasgow Metropolitan College (or what was formely known as Glasgow's School of Building and Printing). This course taught me a lot about the business side of photography as well as also opening my eyes to the artisti nature and underlying meanings that some photography holds, although I am yet to fully accept some theories! I completed this course in June of 2009.
As a freshly qualified student my work experience list is probably not going to wow you, so instead of me listing the small jobs I have done, why not offer me a job and let me impress you with the outcome and help me expand on this section of the website!
